Chunky Avocado Dip

This easy, creamy, dreamy chunky avocado dip is the perfect appetizer for entertaining guests! Use it as a condiment for salads, sandwiches, burgers, and tacos too!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados peeled and diced
  • 1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes cut into 4ths
  • ¾ cup red onion finely chopped
  • 6 ounces feta cheese*
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice to taste
  • ½ tsp sea salt to taste
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped, optional

Instructions

  • Add the chopped avocados to a large mixing bowl along with the sea salt and lime juice. Mash some of the avocado to create a partially creamy dip, leaving the avocados fairly chunky for the best texture. You can go about this based on the texture you’re going for and also make the dip either completely creamy or completely chunky.
  • Transfer the remaining ingredients to the mixing bowl (chopped tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese and cilantro) and mix until everything is well-combined. Taste the dip for flavor and if desired, add more salt, lime juice, garlic, onion, or cilantro to your personal taste.
  • Garnish the top of the dip with extra chopped cilantro, cherry tomatoes, or red onions.
  • Use as a dip, spread, or condiment for appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and more. Serve it with corn tortilla chips, pita chips, crackers, etc.
  • Avocado dip is best when served fresh, but you can keep it for up to 24 hours or based on your personal preference. Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

*Use cotija cheese or queso fresco if you prefer it over feta. You can also omit the cheese for a dairy-free version.
Add sea salt, lime juice, garlic, onion, and cilantro to your personal taste!
