An easy air fryer cod recipe featuring citrus sweet chili flavors. A simple high-protein main dish that's perfect for weeknight meals.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Marination Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 43 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs cod cut into 4 individual filets
  • ¼ cup avocado oil
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp sea salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Remove the cod from its packaging and place it on a plate or cutting board. Pat off any excess moisture using paper towels. Note: be sure the filets are completely thawed to ensure the fish cooks evenly.
  • Stir together all of the ingredients for the marinade in a measuring cup or a mixing bowl until well combined.
  • Place cod filets in a zip lock bag (or sealable container) and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag (or container) and move it around until everything is well-coated in marinade.
  • Refrigerate at least 30 minutes, up to 10 hours.
  • When you’re ready to cook the cod, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the marinated cod filets to the basket of the air fryer and cook for 8-12 minutes (depending on the thickness of the filets), or until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. For a golden-brown crisp, you may want to cook the filets longer, until they reach your preferred level of crispiness.
