Mayo-free Green Goddess Dressing for those of us who love fresh and herby creamy salad dressings. Bring your favorite salad to the next level with this amazing, delicious dressing!

Homemade salad dressing happens almost daily in my house, because your girl eats a lot of salad.

More often than not, I make vinaigrettes, but from time to time, I need a good creamy dressing.

Creamy dressings seal the deal on big entrรฉe salads.

They bind your blue cheese to your bacon like no bodyโ€™s business. Your feta to your chicken, your gorgonzola to your steak, your cheddar to your avocado.

Sometimes we need for our blue cheese to bind to our bacon, which is why we make green goddess dressing. Itโ€™s kinda like Ranch dressing, but even more divine because of the huge infusion of fresh herbs.

Creamy dressings are normally plagued by the wrath of mayonnaise (can you tell I’m not a fan of the mayo?). This is a mayo-free Green Goddess Dressing, because seriously, folks: this is a mayo-free zone.

In case you’re new to Green Goddess Dressing, no worries! I have you covered.

What is Green Goddess Dressing?:

Green Goddess Dressing is made with fresh basil and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice. Typically, mayonnaise is involved in order to make the dressing nice and thick and creamy.

Instead of mayonnaise, I use Greek yogurt and a little olive oil to replace the mayo. It works like a charm!

You’re left with a zesty, herby creamy dressing that is so delicious on all of your salads!

The fact that this dressing is lower in fat and lighter than your standard store-bought dressing makes eating your loaded salads that much more enticing. You can even use it on your bowl recipes to spruce them up and make them more interesting.

Questions and Reviews

    1. Hi Andy,

Yes, absolutely! As long as you use Greek yogurt, it will be thick enough to use as a dip ๐Ÿ™‚ Sounds delicious! Hope you love it!

  1. This salad sounds absolutely wonderful. I like the use of pepitas and yogurt based dressing, but I would have to eliminate the onion and most of the scallions. In my old age I just don’t do well with raw onions. This reminds me of the salad I’m making for dinner tonight, which has blackberries, avocado, and chicken.

  2. Aside from the mayo, lots of other home made recipes calling for anchovies as well… that does NOT sound Goddess to me lol!! Excited to try this version today!

  3. Thank you so much for this! Found a great recipe for a Green Goddess Sandwich that I was excited to take with me to work/school (campus food is dang expensive) until I saw that the dressing called for “a good mayonnaise”. Ick! I’ll be using this to substitute, and happily!
