Keto Fudgesicles made dairy-free and sugar-free with all clean ingredients. Marvelously rich and creamy, fun to prepare, and made with only 6 ingredients!
Growing up, summers meant Orange Creamsicles or Fudgsicles to take the edge off the summer heat.
Sure, any other popsicle was fine by me, but it was always the creamy ones that had me hook line and sinker.
Not much has changed over the years.
I love rich, creamy foods and so long as chocolate is involved, I am ALL IN.
These easy-to-make 6-ingredient sugar-free Keto Fudgesicles are everything youโre going for in a frozen chocolate treat.
Theyโre smooth and creamy, magically chocolatey, perfectly sweet, and are SO FUN and quick to prepare! If youโre a parent (or aunt or uncle) and enjoy making treats with kids, these are quite a match!
Just think: you get to teach anyone who touches these fudgesicles about the fun fact that avocado is magic.
Which brings me to my next point.
These keto fudge popsicles are made using ripe avocado for creamy texture, rich flavor, volume, and healthy fat.
Typically, fudgesicles are made with heavy cream and cane sugar, but we’re switching it up using all clean ingredients and sugar-free sweetener.
This isnโt the first time Iโve used avocado at the moist-maker in a dessert recipe, oh no. My 4-Ingredient Paleo Avocado Chocolate Mousse, Flourless Avocado Brownies, Paleo Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Avocado Chocolate Muffins, and my Keto Chocolate Pie all feature the avocado.
Here’s what we need in order to make these sugar free fudgesicles!
Ingredients for Keto Fudgesicles:
Avocados: A good portion of the volume in this recipe is fresh ripe avocados. They generate a silky-smooth texture and the healthy fat content signals to your taste buds that theyโre experiencing something delicious. Plus, they add Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, B Vitamins and more! Not too shabby for a dessert!
Can you taste the avocado? People with very refined taste buds may be able to detect hints of avocado but in my experience, the majority of people (myself included) wonโt taste avocado. The cacao powder and coconut milk help create that chocolatey goodness that shines through as the prominent flavor.
Raw Cacao Powder: The chocolate portion of these fudgesicles. Raw cacao powder has a smooth creaminess to the flavor, where regular cocoa powder tends to be a bit more bitter. Either one work in this application!
Full-Fat Canned Coconut Milk: Canned coconut milk serves as liquid and richness in these fudgesicles. The liquid helps to blend all of the ingredients together into a thick mousse-like substance, and provides the fat that makes it ultra delicious.
Note that if you use coconut milk from a carton or any other non-dairy milk from a carton, the fudgesicles will not turn out as creamy. The fat in canned coconut milk goes a long way in creating that mouth-watering richness we love so much in a fudgesicle.
Sugar-Free Confectioners Sweetener: The way in which we sweeten the fudgesicles while keeping them low-carb and sugar-free. Be sure to use sugar-free confectionerโs sweetener (also known as powdered sugar) for the best texture. While regular granulated sweetener will work, it wonโt fully dissolve and youโll end up with bits of graininess in your popsicles rather than full creaminess.
Pure Vanilla Extract: A small amount of vanilla extract adds that nice warmth to the fudgesicles and creates a lovely counterbalance to the chocolate. If you donโt have it on hand, feel free to skip it!
Sea Salt: An essential ingredient to any treat, sea salt brings all of the flavors together into a cohesive whole and also enhances all of the flavors. It makes sweeteners taste sweeter without having to add additional sweetener and helps give chocolate an even deeper richness. Donโt skip it!
Letโs make them!
How to Make Keto Fudgesicles:
Add all of the ingredients for the keto fudgesicles to a food processor or blender and process until completely smooth and creamy. Note that youโll need to stop the food processor a few times to scrape the sides in order to get it to blend all the way. If your food processor is having difficulty getting everything to blend, you can add more full-fat canned coconut milk to help it along.
Taste the mixture for flavor and add more sugar-free sweetener to taste.
Transfer the mixture to a popsicle mold (recipes makes 6 fudgesicles). Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze for 3 hours, or until completely set up.
When youโre ready to eat the fudgesicles, thaw them for 5 to 8 minutes. You can also run the outside of the popsicle mold under hot water to help release the fudgesicles from the mold.
Enjoy!
