Immunity Boosting Tropical Smoothie - packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and protein for a healthful breakfast! #vegan #paleo

This time of year, with vacations, kids out of school, back-to-back plans, and the need for continuous convenience, healthy eating habits can easily fall by the wayside.

For me, the best way of ensuring I get the nutrition I need in the midst of all the running around, is to maintain a stock of solid resources in my pantry and a plethora of fresh produce in my refrigerator – that way, I can whip something up on-the-go and stay fueled in an efficient, high-impact way.

I saw a quote the other day that resonated with me – โ€œSelf-care isnโ€™t selfish. You canโ€™t serve on an empty tank.โ€

One of the issues we have as independent, hard-working individuals is taking the time to nurture and uplift ourselves before trying to do so for others.

We feel like we arenโ€™t being good people when weโ€™re giving to ourselves, when in reality, we become more a more valuable resource when weโ€™re operating at full capacity.

One crucial way of showing ourselves we care is by feeding our bodies!

I love that Bobโ€™s Red Mill strongly advocates nutrition and brings it to your home with effortless convenience. Theyโ€™re here to help fill your energy tank in the most positive ways.

I find supplementing my smoothies with high-quality protein powder ensures it is a well-balanced experience, versus all just carbs. I used Bobโ€™s Red Millโ€™s Vanilla Protein Powder Nutritional Booster to add a nutrition boost (and delicious vanilla flavor) to this smoothie.

You can use your favorite protein powder or add in some collagen peptides. Hemp protein is always one of my favorites.

Questions and Reviews

  1. I make & keep chia puddings (protein powder added into the mix) in the fridge for go-to snacks & meal replacements. I blend bananas & strawberries with coconut or almond milk for smoothies or frozen treats. And there’s nothing like a mixed salad of bright greens & spinach leaves with apple cider vinegar/olive oil dressing to keep the engine revved.

  2. My daughter and I make smoothies almost every morning. She has to be at school so early she really does not feel like eating food. This would be great to boost her immunity for school.

  3. I fuel my awesomeness with healthy breakfasts like oatmeal, cereal and fruit or yogurt. I eat vegetarian also during the day.

  4. I like to have smoothies with either protein powder or high protein Greek yogurt and various fruits to fuel up!

  5. I use to have a lot of respritory issues .. Recently I notice when I bought smoothies after work I felt better….Therefore I decided to make them at home instead.. Now I feel awesome in the mornings.. Also I see you use turmeric powder… That is one ingredie
nt that i want to try in one of my smoothies!

  6. My favorite is a Chocolate peanut butter smoothie. Chocolate peanut butter protein, teaspoon peanut butter, silk light chocolate silk and ice. Blend in the bullet… Can’t get much better than that!

  7. I keep trying to like the whole smoothie bowl idea, but it just weirds me out. It’s like putting spaghetti in a glass or eating broccoli on a stick.
