Immunity Boosting Tropical Smoothie - packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and protein for a healthful breakfast! #vegan #paleo

This time of year, with vacations, kids out of school, back-to-back plans, and the need for continuous convenience, healthy eating habits can easily fall by the wayside.

For me, the best way of ensuring I get the nutrition I need in the midst of all the running around, is to maintain a stock of solid resources in my pantry and a plethora of fresh produce in my refrigerator – that way, I can whip something up on-the-go and stay fueled in an efficient, high-impact way.

I saw a quote the other day that resonated with me – โ€œSelf-care isnโ€™t selfish. You canโ€™t serve on an empty tank.โ€

One of the issues we have as independent, hard-working individuals is taking the time to nurture and uplift ourselves before trying to do so for others.

We feel like we arenโ€™t being good people when weโ€™re giving to ourselves, when in reality, we become more a more valuable resource when weโ€™re operating at full capacity.

One crucial way of showing ourselves we care is by feeding our bodies!

I love that Bobโ€™s Red Mill strongly advocates nutrition and brings it to your home with effortless convenience. Theyโ€™re here to help fill your energy tank in the most positive ways.

I find supplementing my smoothies with high-quality protein powder ensures it is a well-balanced experience, versus all just carbs. I used Bobโ€™s Red Millโ€™s Vanilla Protein Powder Nutritional Booster to add a nutrition boost (and delicious vanilla flavor) to this smoothie.

You can use your favorite protein powder or add in some collagen peptides. Hemp protein is always one of my favorites.

Questions and Reviews

  1. I LOVE making smoothies, especially during the summer when I am craving something cold and refreshing. I usually try to get creative with ingredients. Lately, I’ve been adding unique things to my smoothies to spice it up (and keep the sugar low for my gut healing protocol). I’ve been adding frozen zucchini, frozen kale, maca powder, collagen peptides and even frozen pumpkin to make it creamy. Sounds weird, but it’s GOOD! I would love to win these nutritional boosters to help me be successful on my healing protocol.

  2. Unfortunately, I have been eating junk to fuel my awesomeness. However, my summer goal is to get clean, and more awesome. This prize sure would help.

  3. I love making smoothies and so does my whole family. It’s so fun trying different varieties. I love Bob’s Red Mills too.

  4. As a 62 YO widow I am trying to get my awesomeness back after a long siege as a caregiver. Eating whole foods, nothing processed, and relying on local farmers markets as much as possible for fruit and veggies, eating seasonally/locally, which is quite different here in Florida than it was back in the Catskills! My gift to myself this past holiday season was a high powered blender so I can finally try out some of the fascinating recipes I keep finding that rely on these machines. So far it has mainly been used for making my morning smoothies, with maca, moringa, cacao, raw honey, spirulina, hemp protein powder occasional random fruit – whatever is handy, and plant-based milk of some sort – usually cashew or coconut but I recently discovered Ripple – a pea protein milk and like it. Now if I can just find time to exercise between my 1 1/2 jobs and taking care of my home and cat I might get my mojo back!

  5. I fuel my awesomeness by eating the gluten free diet my body needs due to celiac disease. I also love incorporating lots of healthy fats, plant based protein and yummy roasted veggies!

  6. I fuel my awesomeness with natural, Whole Foods to give me the energy I need all day long. I do crossfit and love outdoor activities like hiking, paddleboarding and nature walks. Eat good, feel good. I love trying new recipes and I bake clean treats when I want something sweet, or eat some fresh fruit like strawberries!!

  7. I’ve been hooked on your quinoa, kale, egg bowls. Keeps me strong for hours. Love the balance in this smoothie. Will have to try the BRM protein powder.
