…I donโt exactly wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy, which is why it takes 2 to 3 cups (5 when no one’s looking) of battery acid-strong coffee to put a little spunk in my stride.
Life for me begins whenย the coffee ends. As in, it behooves us all to put conversation on hold until all the coffee’s done been drunk.
And since we’re on the topic, I’m not above doing this in order to get my coffee fix. Yes, I own a milk frother. No, I cannot imagine life without it.

Since I’m a control freak about what I put in my body, I have specific frappuccino criteria, with include the following: a.) must be made with almond milk, b.) excludes additives like carrageenan, c.) excludes cane sugar, d.) the stronger the coffee, the better. All of thisย translates to a frapp that must be made at home.
I pretty much took the smoothie approach to thisย frappuccino by using a frozen overly-ripe banana and a touch of maple syrup as the sweetening agents. The banana adds volume and creaminess, on top of the sweetness. If you use an un-ripe banana, it will probably taste like un-ripe banana mixed with coffee. Don’t do.
But do do this healthy frappuccino, because it’s easy, healthful, and won’t make you curl up in a sugarย coma.

Healthy Frappuccinos
Ingredients
- 1 large overly ripe banana peeled and frozen
- 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup or to taste
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee chilled
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/3 cup full-fat canned coconut milk
- 4 large ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Taste for sweetness. Add more pure maple syrup if desired. Pour into a large glass and enjoy!

Coffee is a treat for me. But it must have rice, almond or soy milk and maple syrup. (or honey if there is no maple syrup available.) And those cold frappuccinos–for road trips they are hard to resist. So much sugar etc. in them that I didn’t even treat myself to one on my long drive. I should just order (iced) coffee as described above!

I don’t drink a ton of caffeine, yet still I can’t even think until I’ve had a cup O Morning Joe. I love that this gives me another use for the bags of over ripe bananas that are always in my freezer!
Bahaha! I am soooo the same way in the morning! My husband has even stopped trying to talk to me until after I have at least 1 cup of coffee in me! I really need a milk frother … I’ve been debating buying one for years now but haven’t done it yet! And these frappuccinos sound amazing!

Most of the time I have my coffee with just a little milk but I like to change it up sometimes!
I’ve drinking black coffee for years now after eliminating sugar and dairy (among others), but this past weekend I was snooping the interwebs for a frappe recipe … this one is worth the wait I can tell!
I cannot live without coffee. I had to go on an elimination diet for health reasons and couldn’t have coffee for a month. It was so horrible, I didn’t care about food just my 2 cups of coffee that I need in the morning. My coffee machine is almost at its end, I would love to win this! Thanks for a great blog. I drink coffee a few times a day, really like my coffee. I drink regular coffee, but prefer flavored coffees and Frappuccinos and cappuccinos and Lattes, so delicious and satisfying.. Especially when you are really able to sit and enjoy it. Thank you for the chance of winning this awesome giveaway!
